Nash Guitars

About

Nash Guitars is a boutique builder specializing in hand-aged, 'relic'd' recreations of vintage Fender-style electrics and basses. Billing itself as the largest independent builder of aged guitars in the world, Nash hand-finishes every instrument in nitrocellulose lacquer with hand-mixed paints, avoiding synthetic finishing materials to more closely replicate the look, feel, and wear of a genuinely decades-old instrument.

History

Founder Bill Nash built a reputation as a guitar tech and builder before starting Nash Guitars, applying meticulous hand-relicing techniques to recreate the exact look and feel of well-worn vintage instruments rather than simply distressing a finish for effect. All Nash instruments are handcrafted in the USA by guitarists and bassists using traditional nitrocellulose lacquer and hand-mixed paint colors — the company deliberately avoids modern synthetic finish alternatives to keep the aging process as authentic as possible. The catalog centers on T-style, S-style, and Jazzmaster-style electrics along with P-style and J-style basses, sold exclusively through a network of authorized dealers rather than direct-to-consumer.
